There aren’t rules or deadlines — just a willingness and desire for change.
Recovery Today offers private, customized coaching, in-person or online, for individuals who want to stop or reduce drinking in order to regain control of their lives. “If I have learned one thing, it’s that
we require support on this journey.”

MEET PJ
Born in the Bronx, I grew up in Westchester County, NY and lived abroad in Australia for a year after graduating college, enjoying a successful career in advertising sales. Somewhere along the way, the social drinking that seemed so normal among my friends and in our industry became something I depended on, and then something worse. My life became unmanageable, my work and relationships suffered, and alcoholism ultimately ended (or at least interrupted) the career I had worked so hard to build.
Practical Support to Help You Move Forward
As a Certified Addiction Recovery Coach, I work with clients to set and achieve recovery-related goals. These can be focused on sobriety, health, academics, career, finances, rebuilding relationships – whatever is most important and meaningful to you.
We will work together one-on-one to do the things most of us in recovery need to work on:
- Define goals and steps toward them
- Identify potential triggers and challenges that might jeopardize your recovery
- Develop coping strategies for stressful situations
- Create healthy boundaries and habits
- Explore other resources and treatment options that can offer additional support, like a psychologist, psychiatrist, sponsor, rehabilitation facility, etc.
Unlike when you work with a therapist or clinician, we won’t focus much on what led you to start drinking or how you got where you are.
We’re working on your next chapter – where you want to be and how to get there. Along the way, I will serve as your sounding board,
mentor and accountability partner, and help you stay motivated. Having been there myself, I am uniquely positioned to do this, without judgement.
I was the client and now I’m the coach.
IS COACHING FOR YOU?
Individuals with varying degrees of alcohol dependency or addiction, and in all stages of recovery, can benefit from a coach. Whether you feel your drinking is “starting to be too much,” have already been to rehab or are experiencing a relapse, know that drinking has damaged your life or relationships, or have recently stopped drinking and need an accountability partner, I can assist you. The only qualifying factor is that you want to stop or cut back on drinking. There aren’t rules or deadlines – just a willingness and desire for change.
Is alcohol a problem for me?
- It affects my job or personal relationships.
- Friends or family express concern.
- I drive under the influence.
- I wake up not feeling well.
- I behave in ways I’m not proud of.
- My life sometimes feels unmanageable or out of control.
If you answered yes to any of these statements, and are ready for a change, a recovery coach will be a great tool for you. If appropriate, I will also help expand your support network, whether that means finding the right medical or therapeutic professionals or encouraging you to seek the support of loved ones and get involved in the local recovery community.
The opposite of addiction is connection.
We start with a free consultation via phone or video conference. This first meeting is where I get a sense of where you are today and where you want to go.
If you decide you want to work with me, we turn our attention to moving forward. We’ll meet regularly to set goals, check in on progress, and work through any challenges. We are always looking for solutions and opportunities.
We can talk more about my approach, and what you are looking for, during your consultation. For now, I can promise you will never feel any judgement from me (be sure to read my bio!), and will hopefully feel that I empathize, but do not pity. How or why you got here is not our concern–only that you are ready to turn the page and begin your new chapter.
You may be scared, frustrated, desperate, or even angry.
Are you hoping to encourage a partner, family member or friend to stop drinking? Considering an intervention, or want to ask them to work with a coach but aren’t sure about the best approach? First, let me say that I appreciate the difficult position you’re in and understand that you may be scared, frustrated, desperate, or even angry. I get it; I was once that drinker whose friends and loved ones were so concerned.
I am happy to speak with you to provide talking points, lead an intervention, or simply listen and
help you figure out next steps.
Do I have to quit drinking to work with a coach?
While abstinence works best for many people with alcohol addiction or dependency issues, I believe in harm-reduction. If I can help you drink less and mitigate the effects that alcohol use has on you and your loved ones, I am happy to do that.
How much do your services cost?
I recommend that after our free initial consultation, we meet once or twice per week for 1-2 months. This will give us time to set goals, get to work, and see how alcohol recovery coaching can help create the change you’re looking for.
I offer three options that include text/email/phone check-ins between sessions to ensure you feel connected and supported throughout your journey. All sessions must be used within 3 months.
- 8 (eight) 1-hour sessions: $1500
- 6 (six) 1-hour sessions: $1200
- 4 (four) 1-hour sessions:$850
Alternately, you can purchase individual coaching sessions for $225/hour.
I accept payment via check, Paypal, Venmo, and Zelle.
